Ewen MacRury, a freelance photographer based in Surrey, has been shortlisted for the British Photography Award’s Commercial: Product Category, one of the leading photography awards in the country. The final stage of the contest is now open to the public vote.

Santa Fe: Black Rock Sands
The series was shot on location in Wales. It captures the sense of adventure possible in a family car. Ewen explains “the warm tones emphasised by the early morning sunrise bring a feeling of comfort and ease to the spirit of adventure possible with such a car”. The dynamics and capability of the vehicle are accentuated by the unnatural setting for cars with such a strong reputation for only existing in cities in 2025. The image was shot using a slow shutter speed to enhance the movement of the car traveling through the sea as it retreated back along the beach.
